Lar Foley Sensory Garden

I was honoured to be asked by Barbara to create a sculpture to celebrate the opening of the Lar Foley Sensory Garden at St Michael’s House in Baldoyle in memory of her late Father.

The sculpture ‘Seeded’ was commissioned for the Garden to represent the growth relevant to her and to the other generous donors.

Four other smaller ‘Seeded’ sculptures were commissioned as a special thank you and keepsake for the benefactors involved.

The sculpture is formed with curving ‘seedling’ leaves in Copper on a Stainless Steel tapering stem.

The Copper in the garden sculpture will darken over time as it weathers. The Stainless Steel stem has been textured to create an organic and natural finish.

The smaller sculptures are designed for indoors and have been given a laquered finish with a message engraved into the base of each in both English and Irish script.

“An official Opening Party for the sensory garden and sensory room was held on the 4 May, and turned out to be a fabulous day for all in attendance.

We are extremely thankful to our donors for being so kind and generous.

The garden and sensory room will make very positive impact on our service users for years to come, providing huge therapeutic benefits, and fun”
