RHAPSODY

The ‘Rhapsody‘ Stainless Steel Sculpture marks a new departure into conceptual art and is one of my ‘Dance’ series.

This piece is the result of my ongoing exploration of intricate curves in stainless steel, a technique I’ve been refining and expanding.

Currently, I am pushing these techniques further, venturing into new and innovative directions both technically and conceptually.

‘Rhapsody‘ aims to capture the essence of movement and grace, seamlessly blending a trio of dancers into one fluid expression of elegance.

As you circle the sculpture, each aspect reveals a different glimpse of the figures in an array of three-dimensional poses.

The contrasting reflections of light further accentuate the complexity of the forms creating a subtle balance of illumination and shadow.

The sculpture is designed, using triple layers of contoured marine grade stainless steel, cut then shaped by hand, tig welded, dressed, and polished to a mirror finish.

Images shown include Bolero and Pirouette from the ‘Dance’ Series taken at Art Source RDS 2024.
