“The 2022 dedicated Classic Yacht Class at Volvo Cork Week was a magnificent spectacle racing in picturesque Cork Harbour every day. Five races were organised for nine beautiful boats from France, Ireland and Wales with superb vistas in White Bay and along the Holy Ground outside Cobh Town.“
I was delighted to be commissioned by the Royal Cork Yacht Club to create the Perpetual Trophy for this special event the “Prix D’Elegance”
My design is based on a Classic Gaff Rig and draws from different aspects of Classic Yachts.
Her hull is highly polished stainless steel with brushed topsides featuring details including deck house, cockpit, tiller and bowsprit with dolphin striker.
Her main and mizzen gaff sails were handmade in copper, with stainless steel hanks attaching to the flying jib and staysail.
