Sculpture in Context 2022 is the longest running, most prestigious sculpture exhibition in Ireland, staged annually in the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin.

“A fantastic launch night for Sculpture in Context 2022 in glorious sunshine! Big thanks from the committee to all our fantastic participating artists”

This year Sculpture in Context celebrates 38 years exhibiting and promoting sculpture in Ireland and 22 years exhibiting in the National Botanic Gardens.

This unique exhibition showcases the inspiring and extraordinary work of both established and emerging artists throughout the magnificent 50 acres of landscaped gardens located in Glasnevin.

I am honoured to have two sculpture pieces selected for this years exhibition Releaf and Eastwind.

My inspiration for Releaf was to create a place to sit and relax which appears to be floating in nature.

Eastwind was designed to quiver in the breeze, reflect its natural environment, and give a sense of wellbeing and comfort, both visually and physically.

The individual forms of the leaf blades in these sculptures, create intriguing shapes and reflections which give the impression of fluidity and movement in an outdoor space.

Working in Stainless Steel & Copper, the technique of tig welding generates distinctive forms during the process, which gives each piece a unique design and lasting beauty.

The exhibition runs from 1st September to 7th October at the National Botanic Gardens

Admission is free.
